Estanza Privacy Policy

In short

This policy applies to the Estanza app for iPhone, version 1.0 and later versions until it is updated.

  • Estanza has no account and no sign-in.
  • Everything you add is stored only on your device: properties, inspections, photos, issues, meter readings, keys and reports.
  • We do not collect, receive or store your data. The app does not send your information to us or to anyone else.
  • The app has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
  • Data leaves your device only when you choose to share or export it.

Who we are

Because the app does not send your personal data to us, we do not normally act as a “data controller” of the content you create in the app. [LAWYER: confirm this characterisation and any identification still required.]

What the app stores on your device

When you use Estanza, the following is saved in the app’s storage on your iPhone:

  • Property details you enter, such as a name, address, unit and notes.
  • Inspections, rooms, checklist status, issues and their descriptions, meter readings and keys.
  • Photos you take in the app. The original file is kept unchanged, together with its capture date (from the photo’s metadata or the device clock), file size and a SHA-256 checksum used to check that the file has not changed.
  • PDF reports you generate, including earlier versions.

This information stays on your device. We have no copy of it and no access to it.

Your photos may show your home, belongings or other people. Please take care about what you photograph and share.

Camera

Estanza asks for permission to use the camera so you can photograph rooms, issues, meters and keys. Photos are saved inside the app, not in your photo library. You can change camera access at any time in iOS Settings → Estanza.

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, microphone or photo library.

Sharing and exporting

You can share a PDF report or export a property’s records (photos, reports and an index file) as a zip file. Both use the standard iOS share sheet, and you choose the destination, for example Files, Mail, Messages or AirDrop.

Once shared, the file is handled by the app or service you chose and by the people you send it to, under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not receive a copy.

Device backups

If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, iOS may include Estanza’s data in that backup. Backups are managed by you and Apple under Apple’s terms. We do not make or hold any backups of your data.

What we do not do

  • We do not collect analytics or usage data.
  • We do not show advertising or use advertising identifiers.
  • We do not track you across apps or websites.
  • We do not sell or share personal data.
  • We do not use your photos or content to train artificial intelligence.

Apple

Apple may collect information when you download or use apps, such as App Store records or crash reports you have chosen to share with developers. This is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. If you share crash reports with developers, we may see technical, non-identifying crash information through Apple. [TEAM: confirm whether this is relied on.]

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device until you delete it.

  • Delete a property in the app to remove it with its inspections, photos and reports.
  • Uninstall the app to remove all of Estanza’s data from the device.

Copies you have shared or exported, and device backups, are not deleted by the app. Delete them where they are stored.

Your rights

Under data protection law (such as the EU GDPR, the Spanish LOPDGDD or the UK GDPR), you have rights over your personal data, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection.

Because we do not hold your data, you can exercise these rights directly in the app: view, edit, export or delete your content. If you have a question, contact us at [email protected].

You can also complain to a data protection authority: in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (https://www.aepd.es); in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (https://ico.org.uk).

Children

Estanza is intended for adults managing a rental home. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly process children’s personal data.

Security

Your data is protected by your device’s own security, such as your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS data protection. Keep your device secure and iOS up to date.

Estanza helps you document and organise a property’s condition. It does not provide legal advice. Reports created with it are not certified and are not guaranteed to be accepted by any person, organisation or court. SHA-256 checksums are for integrity checking only.

Changes to this policy

If we add features that process data differently, for example optional analytics or an optional feature that sends a photo to an external service, we will update this policy before releasing them and tell you in the app or on the App Store. The “Last updated” date shows the current version.

This website and the contact form

This section applies to the estanzaapp.com website, not to the app.

No cookies and no analytics

The website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking pixels. That is why there is no cookie banner. If this ever changes, we will update this policy first.

Hosting

The website is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical connection data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. We do not use that data to identify you. [LAWYER: confirm Cloudflare’s role as processor, its data processing agreement and international transfers.]

Contact form

If you write to us through the contact form, we send your name, your email address, the topic you chose and your message to our inbox by email. Cloudflare processes the sending (Cloudflare Pages Functions, Workers and Email Routing). The form does not store your message in any database; the only copy is the email we receive.

We use this information only to reply to you. The email is kept in our inbox for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and then deleted. [LAWYER: confirm legal basis, retention period and mailbox provider.]

If you email [email protected] directly, we receive your message in the same way.

Spam protection

To prevent spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the sender is a person. Turnstile loads only on the contact page and processes technical data, such as your IP address and browser, for that purpose only. See Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy policy.
